Push for better 2022 push-up challenge starts this June

I'm excited to be part of this wonderful initiative by  The push-up challenge The challenge is to complete  3,139 push-ups to reflect the 3,139 Australians who died by suicide in 2020 . This will be my third year of the challenge. And my second year raising awareness of  Cystic Fibrosis You can join our team  Coughing the distance I've got my 'headzi' and my shirt and am ready to do lots and lots of push-ups! You can donate (in Australia donations $2 or more are tax deductible) to the team through  my page There are lots of push-ups exercise instruction on the internet: Crossfit  have a simple to follow YouTube instruction with good cues.  is my favourite site because they describe the biomechanics and give links to easier and harder variations. It is more technical in the  description. If you have a favourite push-up instruction page I'd love for you to tell me in the comments.

Functional fitness on the farm

 I've moved my home gym to the farm It turns out that farm labouring laying trenches, shovelling, carrying, digging in, digging out, pushing, pulling, climbing, handling (sometimes wrestling) livestock, walking  can benefit from structured exercise routines. I enjoyed doing 100 reps of set exercises a day over the best part of a year.  But then when I had a go at set exercise programs I found that it improved my overall farm fitness functionality. I have a fitbit so I did their routines on my lovely gym mat for a couple of months Then I did strength training with Stronglifts 5 x 5 Now I'm mixing it up a bit with some isometric glute activation exercises, deadlifts, suspension pull-ups, push ups, crunches and short runs. I am of course getting ready for the June Push for better push-up challenge - you can click on my push-up challenge page for more on that.
